Dream your dreams then one day, show them to your friends. Leila Khan, ‘My Little Red Book of Wisdoms’

I never thought of publishing the little red book that I carried in my bag wherever I went, which I would always open up when I felt I needed some guiding words to help me through a bad patch, or to celebrate the good times. When I was thirteen, I started to collect and write down different quotes that I was noticing, and as a wise young girl, I would add my own wisdom’s to my book. Little did I know that twenty years later it would become a self-published book, now available for other people to feel inspired by too!

The words from My Little Red Book of Wisdoms have had profoundly positive affect on me and it really did become a guiding book for me. I would often, and still do, open the book to a page and read the first quote that I saw and ponder
whether it was a message for me or not: ‘Experience is the name so many people give to their mistakes’, or ‘you cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore’, or ‘Children have more need of role models than critics’ or ‘if it is to be, it is up to me’. Oftentimes, in our daily lives we are seeking people who have higher knowledge and wisdom that they have gained through life experience and I believe this is what I was seeking; I most definitely needed it! I needed examples of people who had achieved success, love and courage to help myself move forward. Isn’t this the power of words, especially those words that we don’t know, yet, how to say to ourselves?

What led me to write the book was actually because I wanted to celebrate being alive, celebrate the essence of living, breathing, being connected with myself and with other people. The fact is we have a limited time on earth and in that time, I feel, we all have so much to achieve through living our purpose and mastering our minds, hearts and souls in order to help each other out and be our best. The book is a celebration of life; of my life, I suppose. Life is worth living, and living abundantly knowing that you are worthy of your place here, no matter what other people think, say or do to you. At the time, for the twelve year old younger me, I didn’t know that. I didn’t want to be here and I didn’t see any point in being around. So, my little red book became my companion of wise words that helped me to see things differently over time. This is where my daily joie de vivre, gratitude and deep desire to help people find the happiness and love they are looking for, the success that they desire and the achievements that they are worthy of having comes from. Living, breathing and making the most of yourself in order to support others is such a gift and one that is worth sticking around to enjoy!

To be able to share the achievement of publishing my first book with like-minded friends, people who flit in and out of my life (or actually maybe it’s me flitting in and out!) and the people that stay, My Little Red Book of Wisdoms is about keeping going, trusting that all comes good, that life is worth living abundantly, and that you’re worth it from your deepest core. Click here to order your copy and spread the word to friends and family, young people who don’t yet know who they are, people who need a helping hand in the right direction and anyone else that could do with a little gift. I really hope the book has a positive effect on you, as much as it has had on me! Remember dreams do come true, if you really want them to.

If you could share a gift with a younger you, what would it be? What dreams are waiting to be realised and experienced?
