I remember standing in front of my younger cousins and teaching them something (probably why you should never eat an onion…from experience hehe) and it FELT like magic…to see their eyes light up. To answer their questions. To be of purpose. To be a leader.
I also remember teaching my mum English with my library books and she would teach me how to read Arabic and Urdu. I would ask her about her favourite teacher and again, her eyes would light up when she talked with gratitude for her favourite teacher. I would also translate & interpret for my mum every where we went…would have been quite handy for parents evening but I can’t lie to save my life!!
At the age of nine, I decided to be a teacher of French and I pursued that dream. Studying French was my escape, my freedom from abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, mental. I was literally obsessed with the accent, grammar, linguistics, the culture, everything! I studied French at uni, moved to France, taught in the UK, was promoted to second in department and then assistant headteacher within a few short years. I wanted to continue teaching other teachers how to be outstanding in the classroom as I loved being super innovative and creative. The universe had other plans though…
Over 10 years ago, I remember standing in front of my teen students and thinking ‘I want to help your parents to believe in themselves’. As soon as I said I knew another context for my purpose was about to be birthed. I knew that my purpose wasn’t changing; just that the context was adapting.
And, so the birth of my company was the context for me to empower and lead women to blast through the invisible glass ceiling of success, have her deepest desires on her own soul-led terms and to re-write a new story where she’s making money because she wants to. I so want to see women thrive all over the world!
The dream is not about the thing.The dream is about the feeling.
You can’t buy that feeling – you have to be willing to actually feel it.
Everything I do is infused with love, passion and gratitude.
Those feelings? Priceless. Every single time.Long story short, I’m living the dream because it’s not just mine. We lead together. We thrive together.
I’m living the dream because I feel it with every cell of my being and my heart and soul is in it.I’m living the dream because it’s my own decision, not influenced by another, not because someone told me to do it – because I followed my own heart.
When you know you know and you don’t waste time on anything or anyone outside of your lane #leilaswisevibes
That’s living the dream. And it’s a never ending, exciting, unravelling and adventurous road.
You came here with a purpose for a purpose. Your divine purpose matters. Your dreams matter. Your happiness and wellbeing matters. Your soul growth matters. And above all, your courage over fear matters.
