What choice am I going to make today between being my greatest self, or staying the same person I was yesterday!
And, so:
“Today I choose to be my greatest. Today, I choose to put my needs somewhere on the list; first and number one. I take full responsibility for who I am on the inside, behind closed doors and when no-one is watching.
I am going to take care of myself and the parts in me that really need me.
I am going to take care of the young me that wasn’t held when I needed a hug.
I am going to the care of the inner child that used to yearn for attention, affection and love and looked all over for them.
I am going to take care of the young child that used to be afraid to try something new because of what other children might think of me.
I am going to take care of the teenager that beat herself up over and over again when she tried something new and instead failed. That child and didn’t know that mistakes are a complete natural part of life.
I am going to take care of that part of me that really wants to nurture myself like I nurture others.
I am going take care of the part of me that wants to just stop for a moment and take a rest.
I am going to take care of my flaws and recognise them for what they are and give them love.
I am going to take care of my imperfections and see them as what make me perfect.
I am going to take care of my vulnerabilities and sensibilities and not feel ashamed to be connected to myself.
I am going to take care of my fears by shining a light on them so that they are no longer in the dark.
By shining a light on them I am going to let them be awakened. I am going to let them be seen for what they are. I am going to listen to what I hear within.
Today, I am going to shine a light on all the parts of me that I am hiding away, because there is a part of me that wants to protect myself, to make sure I am not hurt again like I had been a long time ago in the past.
I am going to shine a light on my heart and soul that desperately want to express love, abundance and gratitude for life, for my heartbeat and breathe.
To be able to shine a light and make amazing things happen in my life, I must be brave enough to give myself a moment to see, really SEE with my eyes WHAT IS. It pains me to see my insecurities, it pains me to hear the unkind words I say to myself. It pains me to compare myself to other women or men and wish I were them, it pains me to see the dreams and desires that were never realised. Yet, as I shine a light, the pain diminishes.
I recognise that I am no longer the same person that I was before, because I know more, I sense better, I am a better version of the ‘yesterday me’. Shine a spotlight on just one flaw, weakness or imperfection. And, heal it by shining a light (recognising) where it needs love and acknowledgement”
